Reflection: Article
I just read an article about the 2012 playoff games between Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder for basketball and I thought it was very interesting and it pulled me in soon as I started reading it. The article had started off with a nice quote from Miami's side which I liked because it made me start to actually think about the playoffs. In the article it stated many facts about game 3 between Heat and Thunder like Durant and his teams statistics, quotes said by the Oklahoma City side, and even quotes from players and other members from the Miami Heat such as LeBron James, Erik Spoelstra, etc. I found this article very interesting because I had learned things about both teams that I didn't even know about. It also showed me another side of basketball. It showed me the actual meaning of basketball and what it means to play. It was heart warming to me because I like to play basketball a lot myself and I learned from it. Probably one of the main ideas from this article that I took with me was about having confidence in yourself and your team and to always keep trying, never give up.

Deenie
I just finished the book Deenie, by Judy Blume and I have to say, I've experienced an astonishing time reading it. I learned so much from it. It opened up my mind to new thoughts and ideas. I never thought a book could have such an impact on the way my mind works. Self confidence is the one thing that everyone in the world should have. If you don't have self confidence, I don't think there's anyway to progress in your life. The main character Deenie had went through some tough situations considering the fact that she had moved to a new town not knowing anybody and she had scoliosis which made her the odd ball from everyone else in the school. Even though she was treated differently from everyone, that didn't stop her from succeeding. I can relate to this book a lot because I know how it feels to be judged by others without them knowing anything about you. The most important thing I learned from this book is that, in life, there is always going to be obstacles that will get in your way. The only way to overcome those obstacles is to keep your head high and try to prospere in life.
